Walton Tumbled Herringbone is a stunning large format parquet style floor that is simply fabulous. The oak is gently smoked or fumed which creates a gorgeous floor packed with sumptuous pale walnut, darker ochres and other smoked hues. Every piece reacts uniquely to the smoking process producing a stunning tonal mix adding a huge visual interest to this dynamic herringbone oak floor. Walton Tumbled Herringbone has a sympathetically aged look and feel that suits modern spaces or more traditional ones where an old-world, heavy rustic look isn't the order of the day.
If you want classic coloured wood floors with a natural finish for a timeless look then this is the wooden flooring for you. The charming rustic grade oak has been antiqued and then oiled so that the natural grains, knots and colouring are at their best. Whether you are fitting out a country retreat or a town house, this hardwax oiled oak flooring will look simply stunning. Aged through our unique tumbling process, Walton gives you the look & feel of an oak floor that’s seen a thousand heels which have lightly dinted, polished and elevated the oak’s natural character to something that is even more charming & attractive.
Walton engineered oak flooring is available in the dramatic large sized herringbone parquet format of 600mm (L) x 100mm (W) x 20mm (D). This engineered oak herringbone wood flooring has individually distressed & tumbled edges and fits together via tongue & groove. | Grade | RUSTIC GRADE: Rustic grade wood has the largest range of colour variation, sap content and allows almost a limitless size and number of knots. There will be checks (stable splits) across & between the growth rings, all of which add to its natural charm. Filler will be used and the colour is traditionally dark, carefully selected to compliment the oak rather than to match it or ‘disappear’. Rustic grade oak produces a stunning, traditional vintage looking floor. |
| Installation Points | Engineered Herringbone Oak Flooring cannot be floated over an underlay. The planks must be solidly attached to the sub-floor using an appropriate adhesive. |
| Glue-Down | We recommend fixing engineered oak, where possible, with the Glue-down method. Using a high-quality adhesive will result in the most stable floor installation as the base of each board is bonded directly to the sub-floor. No underlay is needed and no gluing of the tongue and groove is required. We recommend Bona Quantum flexible wood flooring adhesive though many other brands are available – speak with your installer as they will likely have a tried and tested product they can supply. |
| Blending | Shade and colour variation should be expected in our real timber engineered oak products. Each board will react differently to the finishing processes used and have unique characteristics such as knots and highlighted grain. Stronger tone & colour variation can occur between batches, so it is recommended you ensure you order enough for your project in one batch. As always when laying real timber flooring a good number of packs should be opened at a time and blended. |
